I believe so, yes. They're just different styles of furniture with the same purpose.

Is it better to have one of those, or a closet or dresser? Or is it just a design choice? I have been learning about those.

[ Nen doesn't really understand the concept in practice, but the theory behind is as sound as aesthetics and subjective likes/dislikes ever get. ]

So if you had a lot of space...you would use one of those?

[ They don't know what a wardrobe is, but it sounds like it's bigger than a closet...or at least, takes up more space in the room its in, since it isn't built out of the wall.

They're getting pretty close to one of the shops though, and as soon as Nen spies it they lift a hand to point it out. ]

This is the shoes and stockings shop!

I imagine so? I don't have lots of furniture, so it's never been an issue.

[ They ask, already pulling open the door to hold it for him. This is the only store they've been to specializing in shoes and socks (and fun underwear), so Nen just assumed all stores of that nature were like this. ]

Most don't tend to sell undergarments alongside shoes or socks.

{ he is trying to not be judgemental of the place, but how does a place like this sell good quality shoes or underwear when this is a strange combination to have.

Well, I thought I'd seen most of them here... but apparently not.

Is this something you'd been hoping to wear?

I think so. I like clothes that feel tight and smooth. They feel the best.

I think if the legs are not connected and cover my waist though, they will fall down if I move too much. These are somewhat impractical.

Really? Hmm, how interesting. I suppose I do miss the silk of my clothes from home, but having anything too tight would restrict movement.

Admittedly, this is not an area I have experience with.

Is silk like tights? You should try some, you can find a pair you like if you do.

I couldn't say. Well, I suppose once I've tried them. Though I don't believe we're supposed to try these, are we? They're still in wrapping.

We could ask a store clerk, but usually if something is in a wrapper like these are, no.

Doesn't it relate to shoe size as it's similar to regular socks?

I'm unfamiliar with that style, though when I bought shoes previously someone was able to measure my foot for me, perhaps they offer that service here?

They will measure for you? Dip. I will go and find a shop attendant then. Look for more tights!

[ The ultimate tragedy, tbh. Even after all that work of bringing a store attendant to help point out which ones might be best and how to fasten some of the waist-less stockings with clips or garters, Ayato will not fit them...

But Nen sure can grab a couple of pairs that do have waistbands. ]

I will get these ones. Do you think I should get a pair for Kenta? He is almost the same size...

I don't know Kenta. { he doesn't even remember the name being mentioned all that often either, compared to Chipp and Shigeru-- } Is he a friend of yours?

[ Oops right, Nen doesn't talk about Kenta as much--just because he's so sickly and delicate compared to the two of them. Nen somehow respects Kenta's privacy more?? oops. ]

Kenta is a tiny husband! He gets sick a lot, kind of like me. He is a very dear friend to me. I am going to become strong and protect him.

Yes, a tiny one.

[ Yes good Ayato. Most people would use the term "friend", but since Nen's understanding of the word husband comes from the explanation that it's "someone you never want to be parted from", it's like...friends on steroids.

But also, husbands. ]

I hope so. Our waistlines are very comparable. Although I am taller, many of my clothes fit him without too much issue.
